Photos of Bandra Worli Sealink: It promises to being in a new era in road travel in Mumbai.

Mumbaikars are used to travel on congested roads; almost all the arterial roads in the city are dug up for flyovers, metro and many other projects. Some of them going on for years. This sealink will provide a glimmer of hope to the road traveller in Mumbai that things can and will improve in times to come. This link will cut down the travel time between Worli and Bandra to about 5 to 7 minutes; a distance that takes anywhere between 30 to 60 minutes depending on the time of the day you travel between these two points in Mumbai. It is estimated that a one way trip will cost INR 50/- but in the city where time is money people will not mind shelling out this amount.

Now Mumbai being Mumbai the road on Worli side of the bridge is simply not geared up to meet the traffic demand of the sealink; it could result in jams as soon as one gets off the bridge in Worli, for the residents of posh Worli Sea Face it could mean loads of inconvenience, but that is Mumbai for you! Come June end road travellers will have one more road to travel on and maybe for some of them it will mean not having to stand in traffic at Mahim or Dadar but a smooth ride from Bandra to Worli.
